Hey Everyone! Next friday is my last day of my CNA program! What is my next step after completing the program. I am also looking in going to Ivy Tech for LPN. What does anyone recommend??

Congratulations!! :) I recommend hard studying and strong coffee :chuckle is the program you're attending 12 month or 18 month. Mine is an 18 month and we just finished the first half this past Friday, the time passes quickly!

Ivy tech has a pretty informative web site (www.ivytech.edu) , and pretty much maps out what you need to do. I am also finishing my CNA in 2 weeks, and in August I start my prerequisite classes to get into Ivy Tech's LPN program. They are pretty selective, from what I've heard, because of the number of applicants each year. They are one of the least expensive and put out some really good nurses (at least that's what I'm hoping for!!)

Also, after you get your CNA, apply for a job that offers tuition assistance or reimbursement. A lot of places are offering that as part of recruiting and retaining good nuses.

GOOD LUCK!!! :nurse:

I finish the first week (out of six) of my CNA training tomorrow I plan to study for my LPN certification in a year or two.
