Drugs with Salicilaytes or Ibuprofen

  1. Is there a web site where I can get a list of medications that have salicilaytes or motrin on it? I noticed that I had to do quite a few counselings for patients scheduled for surgery today. Thank goodness that the RN I work with told me she would do them for me today (we exchanged patients today because she didn't have much time to teach me about pre-surgical counseling)! I don't know where to obtain one, and I am not comfortable in just telling people not to take aspirin or motrin before their procedures since there are many medications, especially over the counter, that have these components in them.

    Thanks!

This is why you need to get the job, Sue! Plus, you'd have to do some teaching to your chemo patients about avoiding aspirin unless advised by a physician. Thanks!

For salicylates, check out www.reyessyndrome.org There are links to prescription meds, OTC meds, and topical meds that have asa or salicylates in them. The list is quite extensive!

    Actually, it is...
I am sure that I can blow their minds the same way I was. It is interesting to see the entire list.
