Can anybody give me any pointers on explaining "doll's eye" reflex to a group of nursing students?
Thanks for your help!:kiss

Take a baby doll with you and demonstrate it. I guaranted they'll remember that, as opposed to a lengthy explanation which does nothing to help visualize the reflex.

Goggle search of 'Doll's eye reflex' has good articles---first one little too technical but has good info.

What was my old school chant..."3-6-8 Doll's eyes are great" ?
I like the idea of the doll props too... helps 'em remember ya wanna see those eyes moving around in the head....and it's a BAD thing for the patient when they don't.
Thank you!!!

I use the "3-6-8, Doll's eyes are great" thing too. Heard it from Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio.

Just be sure to mention that the cervical spine must be "cleared" before turning the patients neck side to side.
