Do you have any motivational nursing quotes?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I saw a quote today on AllNurse that I would like to post around the workplace in "interesting" places, for example, on the back of the restroom stall door, over the pyxis, etc. The quote I saw was, "Be the type of nurse you want to work with." I Love that.

I want to be the anonymous morale builder and motivator at my workplace. So if anyone has some motivational, cute, humorous or thought-provoking quotes that I can print on a small card and leave around for others to find and be amused, comforted or otherwise built up by I would appreciate it.

I am especially looking for quotes that will make me and my co-workers proud of nursing and ourselves. I'm not interested in sarcasm or "woe is me" types of quotes. Even though some of those are hilarious and probably speak more to me. But right now my goal is to uplift.

Please help me motivate my friends and amazing coworkers and maybe we'll motivate each other as well.

Thanks in advance.

From one of my nursing school instructors:

"The mind goes first"

I used to post a "thought for the day" every day at summer camp with my Scout troop. Sometimes serious, sometimes silly. This was one of the all-time favorites:

"Beware of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup."

"Nurses aren't in it for the income we're in it for the outcome"[/quote']

I like it

I love all of these. I can't wait to start posting them around the unit in unexpected places. You never know when the right word can change a day, or more.

I love the community of nurses, and I'm proud to be one all these many years.

I'm a huge fan of the Bombay Hospital Motto.

Bombay Hospital Motto

Adapted from a quotation of Mahatma Gandhi

A Patient is the most important person in our Hospital. He is not an interruption to our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our Hospital, he is part of it.

We are not doing him a favour by serving him, he is doing us a favour by giving us an opportunity to do so.

I live that! That should be every hospitals motto!

"The capacity to watch over and guard the well-being of others is an important gift, and one that is learned with great difficulty. For it is one thing to see the situation that others are in, but it is quite another to care enough about them to want to help, and yet another to know what to do."
