Difference Between Contact Hours & CEUs

I've attended a couple conferences lately which have awarded contact hours. I'm just wondering if these count as CEUs to maintain certifications?

Nov 11, '12 by RNsRWeYou'd have to check with the accrediting agencies in question for the specifications on what will and will not qualify for the certifications, but generally speaking, a contact hour is approximately one hour's worth of education credit. A CEU (continued education unit) consists of ten contact hours.
