Daytonite has passed away...

Nurses General Nursing

Updated:   Published

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the loss of one of our most beloved members, Daytonite.

Daytonite was instrumental in working with the nursing students here at allnurses.com. She was always there for them as well as the seasoned nurse. Her love, however, was teaching those in a nursing program by leading and guiding them here at allnurses.com.

Daytonite had been ill for a while; more seriously in the past 8 months. She passed away on April 8th, 2010.

Our sincere sympathy to the family of Daytonite. If anyone would like to place a condolence, here is the online obituary: JOYCE WAGNER Obituary: View JOYCE WAGNER's Obituary by The Plain Dealer. We think her family would be very touched reading the comments from our allnurses family.

We join you in mourning our friend...

Our fellow colleague...

A nurse above all...

A true advocate for the patient...

A teacher who gave of her heart for all who aspired to be a nurse.

Goodbye, Daytonite. You will be truly missed.

With Love,

All the allnurses.com staff

I did not know either until just now. I remember her fondly from the student nursing forums and she always gave such great, level headed advice. Be at peace and fill heaven with all your knowledge!

Got tears running from my eyes right now to hear that a fellow nurse has passed away. All that wonderful knowledge now gone!

Kind thoughts and condolences sent to the family at this time.

I just found out about her today while I was searching about care plans, then I found out that she had passed away. R.I.P. daytonite :(

I have such difficulty believing it's been a year.

You know, Joyce would have been so humbled and grateful to know of the impact she made on the education and the careers of so many of us here at AN. I personally have benefitted greatly in my career because she made difficult topics understandable. She had such an interest in the people she helped, and she cared deeply about the profession of nursing as well as those who chose to pursue it. She was a treasure here, and I know she's missed deeply by so many.

Rest In Peace, Joyce Wagner (aka Daytonite) :(

You touched so many lives. You helped many a flagging spirit.

And through your untiring efforts, you've helped many a soul take a glimpse at what it means to be a nurse.

O Rest in Peace, Joyce Wagner! We mourn your passing.

We despair at losing you.

But we cherish the memories. The tales. The posts! :)

O Rest in Peace now, Joyce Wagner!

Your presence and your contributions shall not be forgotten.

Please continue to watch over us 'scared stiff nursing students'...

... may you be blessed with eternal grace.

She motivates me to become a better person; She was truly an amazing human being as is evident by this thread 1-year later. I hope her family is coping well.
