Daytonite has passed away...

Nurses General Nursing

Updated:   Published

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the loss of one of our most beloved members, Daytonite.

Daytonite was instrumental in working with the nursing students here at allnurses.com. She was always there for them as well as the seasoned nurse. Her love, however, was teaching those in a nursing program by leading and guiding them here at allnurses.com.

Daytonite had been ill for a while; more seriously in the past 8 months. She passed away on April 8th, 2010.

Our sincere sympathy to the family of Daytonite. If anyone would like to place a condolence, here is the online obituary: JOYCE WAGNER Obituary: View JOYCE WAGNER's Obituary by The Plain Dealer. We think her family would be very touched reading the comments from our allnurses family.

We join you in mourning our friend...

Our fellow colleague...

A nurse above all...

A true advocate for the patient...

A teacher who gave of her heart for all who aspired to be a nurse.

Goodbye, Daytonite. You will be truly missed.

With Love,

All the allnurses.com staff

I'm at a loss for words. The assistance that I got from her helped me build my foundation in nursing. What an amazing person. I pray for her family

:crying2:Oh my goodness, didnt even know how bad it was...she will be greatly missed....my condolences to her family

As I graduate from my ADN program I give thanks to Daytonite and all her great postings on nursing theory. She has given the nursing community so much. Her posts made me think critically about the situation as a whole for patients.

I believe God gives each of us a gift that he places in us to display his glory. It is like the scripture of the men with the three talents one choose to hide his another choose to use his by multipling it. Joyce has done one in the same not only was she a testimony of Gods working power in her life as a nurse, but she was a advocate, and a teacher helping so many here to get through

I have learned that what I do with my life is a testimony of what so many others has placed in me. My mother's prays, my dad correcting, my pastor many nights of preparing sermons, after sermons that spoke to my life and even Joyce advice.

How many nights has she stood in the gap giving countless advice and sharing of herself even through her sickness.

Another talent God has placed in our lives she didnt hide her gifts and for that her spirt has the opportunity to live on in each of us.

Lets remember her as we strive to be the best nurses we can and she could be like all other proud mothers as she :) down from heaven

My deepest pray's to the family God Bless

I dont know if she had faith, but I know God must have given her a mansion in heaven! She encouraged a whole new generation of nurses to get through school, and be able to help those in need. In my times of need, she gave me advice and guidence, and for that I thank her! God bless the family. She will continue to help us even in her death..her posts will continue to teach us for years to come :yeah:

She will be greatly appreciated...Her advice will always be remembered. RIP Daytonite

I wish she could type from heaven! What an amazing soul and person and such a giver. I thank God for this special teacher and pray she is resting peacefully and free from pain. It would be nice to see a compiling of her posts on a thread. Never have I learned so much about holistic nursing care than as from just one good care plan post from Daytonite.

RIP, Daytonite. You were an awesome teacher here on AN. I learned so much from you. You'll be sadly missed.

I had no idea!

Have only just now read this thread.

RIP dear Joyce.

Condolences - albeit, belatedly - to the family.

Sadly, as sometimes happens, our correspondence dwindled, and I feel dreadful about that. :(

I knew how ill Joyce was, we talked about it in our correspondence. Then ... time and events preoccupied our lives and now ..... :(

I'm so very very saddened to read this sad news.

I'm glad you enjoyed wearing the T-shirts dear Joyce! :)

I'll always remember you. Your generosity was humbling and I'll forever associate "Damages" with you and our critique's after the shows! :)

A candle is lit and prayers said.

The world is a better place for having you in it.

Love ... Grace xxx
