dallas and austin nursing pay

  1. Hello all, I am currently a 28 year old mother of 3 who has gone back to school full time. I am in LVN school right now but already have my pre-req. for rn school. I plan on going straight through to get my masters. I live 30 minutes from Waco but was thinking about after I was done with my RN school working in the Dallas area. I am going to work in the Waco area while in RN school because I already have a guranteed job at providence. What I was wondering is if pay wise it is worth the hour and 15 minute drive to dallas. Does anyone know which hospitals are paying the best in the dallas area. Also, how does the sign on bonuses look up there. Providence is giving me 3000 reimbursement for school if I work for them 1 year. I thought that was a pretty good incentive. I heard their night RNs make about $23 an hour. It wont pay for me to drive to dallas if it isnt much better than that. Does anyone know how Austin's hospitals pay also? Is it any better than the Dallas area. Thank you!

I am also interested in pay scale information for the Austin/San Antonio area(s). Any friendly people out there got any information they would like to share?
I personally am an RN in a level 3 NICU with just over 2 years of experience under my belt and am hoping to move into another level 3 NICU in this area.

    Any help is appreciated.
