CNA experince on applications

I am going to start an ADN program in August and I will have to find a job as a CNA since my current employer cannot work with my schedule. I have been filling out online applications but I am wondering if I am filling them out correctly.

The job description says one year of experince is required in a healthcare setting. When I start to apply it asks me how much experince I have. It does not specify as a CNA or in a healthcare field. I have worked as a CMA for 3-4 years and have past experince as a CNA for 1-2 years. I have only been putting 0-1 years because I have not worked over 2 years as a CNA and they do not have an option for 1-2 years. I am worried that the computer will kick out my application even though I have experince. I also tend to over analyze everything, as if you couldn't tell.

I also wanted to know if I should put that I have some experince with psychiatric patients. I have worked in LTC with psych patients and in doctor's offices with psych patients but I have not worked in a strictly psychiatric facility.

Thanks in advance for your responses! I just want to make sure someone at least looks at my application but I don't want to lie.

Oops, I meant experience.

Specializes in CVICU.

working as a medical assistant is healthcare exp.

add up the time you have worked as a CMA (3-4 yrs) and as an aide and put that

good luck!

Thanks for your reply. I just wanted someone else's opinion since I have never done the online applications before.
