I vote Yes! I am an RNII Case Manager at a HUGE family practice: 56 exam rooms. I am responsible for ALL clinic duties, med admin, flow maintenance, provider collaboration, walk-in triage, phone triage, case management of high-risk patients (of which there are TONS, and minor procedures. I am a NURSE! Most ER and ICU nurses I know wouldn't last a day in the chaos of what I do. Please give us a group!

Excellent idea! RNs can be mistaken for non nursing staff as many offices
are replacing RNs with other assistant or tech positions.
That said, clinic nursing is still an area where many nurses of
all educational levels work. The clinic nurse status is validated,
but currently lost in all the new approaches to staffing.
There is an art and science to being a good nurse in the clinic and
I support LaughingRNs proposal to have a separate specialty site
in this area.
Looking forward to the discussions in Clinic Nurse Specialty forum.
Thanks LaughingRN!
This is an effort (albeit, one that most likely will fail) to add another specialty category for nurses on this site.Clinic nurse.wh5 Reasons that I think clinic nurses should have a new categoryI feel that we have an extremely high tendency to be mistaken for non-licensed professionals. I am not an MA, Nursing student, tech or any variation of the above...I'm A BSN. Allnurses can help us validate our nursing status!Patient's and their families yell, scream and blame us for everything under the sun too. We need a place to vent.I assist minor surgeries, biopsies, procedures related to our specialty. I do not just take patient histories all day. Everyone could benefit from learning about this type of nursing (vast and varied) and what is involvedThere is a very vast range of nursing specialties on Allnurses, under the specialty tab. To be honest, I am sad that some of them (and very obscure some are indeed) are listed and clinic/outpatient nurse isn'tI am a clinic nurse, and I'm lonely here

I vote yes!!! I think most clinic nurses post under the Ambulatory specialty section. This is where I have posted in the past as I have worked in the clinical setting for 12 years.
It would be nice to have a section titled Clinic Nurse Specialty, because it is a specialty that requires many skills.

Forgive me if this is an ignorant question, but, is "clinic nurse" somehow different from "ambulatory care"? Since there's already a forum for the latter, it seems to me the two would be redundant -- but maybe I'm missing something?
BTW, my favorite facebook group along these lines is the Tautology Club, "if one million people join this group, it will have one million people in it". :)
