Choosing a Reference?

Nurses General Nursing

hi all.

i am starting to get my resume in order and am not sure who i should use a references.

i have a nurse from the ltc home a work at as a aid that i will use for sure.

i had used a teacher that really liked me to get the aid job, but we have not really seen each other in 2 years. i was thinking the doc for my current job. i believe she would give me a good reference, but i know she would like to see me get a job for her, but it would only be casual, so i can't give up my aid job for that. i would like to put my preceptor, but i have only (like today) just been switched to her (my last one had some issues, nothing to do with me). there is also a nurse who is at the hospital where i'm consolidating who said i made a good impression on her and said would be a reference for me, but she has not known me for long. i could use my pastor as i have in the past or previous non nursing employer.

if i use three references (should i even use 3?) then i need two of the bolded. should i include one personal reference? if i did then it would be my pastor.

thanks for any replies, hope this is not confusing.

I was always told to include three-two of them should be professional, and one personal. Always ask before including anyone as a reference, so there aren't any surprises. :nurse:

Use the two you think will give you the best support. Chances are they will not even be contacted
