Cardiac Chairs

I have been unable to find any studies that specifically examine the benefits of a cardiac chair versus putting the bed up into the full chair position? Is there really any benefit to moving a patient to the cardiac chair instead? Thanks.

We had an excellent discussion regarding this:

Patients in bed with the HOB elevated slide down and must be pulled up repeatedly. Pressure on the skin is often in the same place when a patient is in bed.

Breathing, hemodynamics, balance, and other systems benefit from the legs being lower.
