Canyon college online BSN

Nurses General Nursing

Hi all,

I need your advise. I just spoke to the admission officer at Canyon college who told me that i can enroll in individual courses for BSN while taking my ADN to facilitate faster completion of the program. When i finish my ADN and have my RN license (next semester) i can officially enroll in the online RN-BSN program and can transfer all my credits. So if i have most of the courses completed between not till i graduate, i can finish my online BSN in 6 months.

Whats your opinion on this? the website is http://www.canyoncollege.edu.

please let me know, thanks a lot.

p.s. i posted this at distance learning thread but no one responds so i hope someone has some info so i can make decisions. thanks.

It sounds like a fabulous way to get alot done in a short amount of time. I too have checked out canyon college, as they are very affordable and have a legal nurse consultant program as well as master's programs. I would be sure it is accredited and recognized before investing. That is where I am now, checking out its credibility to make sure it is not a college that is useless in the end. ANY ONE ELSE HAVE A COMMENT ON THIS COLEGE???

I haven't heard of Canyon College. I'm enrolled in University of Phoenix's online BSN program. It can be done in about 18 months, then the MSN part also takes 18 months. Its expensive - about $1100 every five weeks, but relaxed.

Please do a search online. I do not know if I can post a link to any articles but there is much information on Google and other sites about how they are not accredited and how a woman spent $5500 and was then told her degree was worthless. It made all the major news sites. Not only that but she was told she could face CRIMINAL charges if she tried to use this so-called degree! I felt terrible that she lost $5500 dollars. And for what? Will she get a job in her field? I seriously doubt it!

I checked Canyon College out and they are "NOT" accredited. Don't waste your money!

You know the old sayings

"If it sounds to good to be true..."

"You get what you pay for"

Yes, this is true. Check for a recent article about Canyon College problems They are alleged to have potentially taken as much as thousands of dollars from at least 4,000 students. Then the so-called graduates were sometimes told they could face criminal charges for trying to use these degrees as legitimate ones! Who wants to spend good money on a bad degree or one that doesn't land a decent job in your field of choice?
