Being a nurse means caring for others physically, emotionally, and mentally, as if you give a damn -- even when you don't.

(Can you tell I've had some obnoxious patients recently?)

Being a nurse means that you have an opportunity and the skills to be of service and of benefit to others.

I am grateful and feel fortunate that I chose a career where that will be possible all of my working life.

I can't possibly say in once sentence what it means to me. The above thoughts touch on it, however. It means much more than ONE simple sentence could ever convey.
