I used to like Oprah before I heard in newspaper article what she believed, on how people get to heaven. I want everyone to know I believe she is entitled to her beliefs before I continue.
The article in question quoted Oprah stating "I believe you get to heaven or a higher place by being a good person".
I don't know about you all, but there is only one belief I have about getting to heaven, and that is believing Jesus Christ came to this earth and died on a cross for my sins. The bible is very explicit on directions on how to get to heaven. I think Oprah needs to buy a copy. She could possibly pay enough to get a picture of herself on it, I'm sure. But, if the content stays the same, I'm sure she could learn a thing or two.

I will continue to pray that she finds the joy of inviting Jesus into her Heart.

Hah! Sounds like we will be seeing even more multiple pregnancy programs on the oprah health channel thank on DHC.

The thought of Oprah having editorial control over a channel with even a modest pretension to scientific rationalism makes this viewer reach for an emesis basin.

I am told that Oprah regularly has a doctor as a guest that advises her viewers that shape, frequency, and density of their stool can reveal a multitude of information about their health.

And let us not forget that Oprah had the daylights sued out of her for suggesting that US beef placed consumers at risk of CJD.

Joel Osteen said the "good person" thing on Larry King (I heard it myself) and later denied it.

I have heard that he also doesn't have any crosses in his building because he doesn't want any of the negative aspects of Christianity displayed. Huh?

My grandchildren, including the almost seventeen year old, have access only via their parents computor. And only when their parents are around to monitor them. Use to be the TV was the fsamily babysitter, now it is the net.

I didn't know about his staffer bailing out the one teenager until I read this thread. How sickening. Of course, once the story was out, Dr. Pill said, "In this case, certain staff members went beyond our guidelines (re the bail being paid). These staff members have been spoken to and our policies reiterated. In addition, we have decided not to go forward with the story as our guidelines have been compromised."

To answer another poster's question, Dr. Phil is not licensed anywhere any more. He used to be (in TX), but he "retired" his license and closed his practice.

I have Direct-tv and truthfully never watched that channel. The whole lineup is in a constant state of flux. How else can you explain Murder She Wrote being on the Biography then the History Channels.

Books are more fun and they always remain the same. JMHO

I just caught a spot on cable news when I was channel surfing. To be honest with you, I do not put any faith into Dr. Phil or the big "O". They both put themselves forth as experts, in so many things, when they barely have any knowledge in most things. I did like Dr. Phil when he first started appearing on her show. And I like him even less now that he has his own show.

I like watching Discovery Health but not all the pregnancies and deliveries. I do enjoy the Trauma and the Plastic Surgery spots. If she changes it, I guess it is another channel I stop watching.

ewwwwww...Ellen...she's equally nauseating IMHO; she put an adoption agency out of business because of her influence and sense of entitlement---so if you get 9 different dogs and all of them are somehow too rambunctious for you to handle so you give them away and it's against the rules and the agency enforces the contract you signed and you attack that agency--shame on you ; and does anyone buy that stammering act to get out a point? it's not comical, but it's not genuine either; she needs a psych eval.

and that mess of an individual, Tyra and her incapacitating fear of dolphins...she can join Ellen and Oprah and Phil can lead the group

these folks make me appreciate a feller like Jerry Springer because at least he doesn't take himself so seriously
