Bf says I smell like corn

  1. Ok, this is a little embarrassing... :imbar

Every time (almost) I came back from clinicals, my bf says my breath has this distinctive "corn smell". Now, I have to say that I take good care of myself and maintain good oral hygiene. And this hasn't been a problem to me at all until I started clinicals...

I've tried researching online but found nothing related. Does anyone knows what might be it? Should I be concerned about visiting Dr?

    Best regards to all here.

My oldest dog has a Fritos odor sometimes. Vet said it happens when he gets a yeast infection.....Just a thought.

You said it's just when you come back from clinicals....so, it's probably just the smell of the hospital, patients, creams, meds, etc. on you. Let's face it, hospitals definately have a "smell" to them.

Who knows why he thinks it smells like corn. Just get a shower as soon as you get home.

    >What's the matter? Doesn't he like corn?< :rotfl We had a similar discussion here a year or so ago-I remember something about rubbing your finger against the back of your ear in the crease---everyone has their own unique smell....fritos,grape jelly, cheese. ....Does your boyfriend smell like a bed of roses himself? Or-is he feeling a little insecure,a little threatened by your career move? Boys can be so silly.....

It's probably just the odors from the hospital. It's sort of like if you smoke, you're going to smell like smoke. Or if you come in out of the rain you're going to smell like rain. Explain that concept to your bf and he should understand. All you can really do is take a shower when you come home and use body spray or some type of scented oil, lotion, or powder. Also, don't forget that smells cling to your hair as well. So lather up!

Take care of a GI bleed pt all day and see what he thinks you smell like then.

And I agree that it's probably just hospital smell. I jump in the shower as soon as I get home. Don't want my bed to have hospital smell, or worse, hospital germs!
