Back to school (already!) and other stuff from a Dec. 2004 grad

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Just a quick update on me. I graduated in December of last year and began a critical care orientation in January. My last date of orientation is less than two weeks away, then I'm on my own. Am I ready? As ready as I'll ever be...LOL.

And to make a long story short, I've decided to pursue my MSN in nurse education. It will be at the same school where I did my BSN. The other students in my program will be a mix of new nurses like me plus experienced nurses. I begin my first class next week, and it will be online. Most or all of the other classes meet on campus. I'll be going part-time to school and continue to work full-time.

That's it from here. What are other 12/04 grads up to?

I'm not a 12/04 grad, but you post struck a chord as I'm about to celebrate 5 years as an RN. It's amazing to me the twists I've taken in that time - going from geriatrics since age 16 to nursing for the college population.

I'd love (or hate) to know how how many of my classmates may already be out of nursing or at least away from bedside care. While I love my jobs, I know that everyone is not so fortunate.
