i must be the one stupid one here...how do you post a pic for an avatar????? hellllp! by the way, ya might NOT want to tell me; i take yucky pics!

Hey Debbie! Do you have a scanner to scan a pic of yourself onto the computer? o you have the software to resize it? I think resizing is the place where most people run into problems.

If you decide to post your pic, let me know if you need any help! I did Kristi's pic for her, although I cannot take credit for how cute she looks :D

Give a holler if ya need help!

Hey, how do you plug in pictures as avitars anyway? I tried a few days ago and all it did was replace my yip yip yip monster with buthead (or was it beavis?)

I actually don't like seeing my Avatar. . . .

. . . Those Double Chins!!!

But it's the only photo optimized for use as an Avatar. . . for now.

Adrienurse:

Here's how you submit your personal avatar.

First, you must meet the following criteria:

1) the photo must be less than 100 X 100 pixils in dimension

2) the photo must be less than 15,000 bites

3) the photo must be save as a ".jpg" or "gif" file (maybe more?)

Decide on a way to save your photo. You have a choice to retrieve your photo from a web site or from your computer.

Save your photo. To keep it simple, let's just say you're going to save it on your computer. Know the pathway to your saved photo. For example: c://my_documents/photos/adrienurse_photo.jpg

Go to "Allnurses.com" and sign in.

Go to "User CP"

Go to "Edit Options"

Click on "Change Avatar"

At this point, you will have a choice of retrieving your photo for upload to the "Allnurses.com" server/website. Again, the choices are

1) from your web site. If this is the case, enter the exact URL of your avatar. For example,

http://www.adrienurseworld/photos/adrienurse_photo.jpg

or 2) from your computer. Click on "Browse". Search for the pathway of your saved photo. For example:

c://my_documents/photos/adrienurse_photo.jpg

Make sure you indicate that "Yes" on the "Use Custom Avatar"!!!

Finally, click on "submit modifications" . . . and you're off!!!

You now have a photo of yourself for the world to see!!! (Hopefully you would have brushed your hair when the photo was taken!!! . . . just kidding )

Good luck!!

Ted

(I actually copied this message from another thread. . .)
