Audio Leaning aides

I've got a big road trip planned for the week before school starts. Does anyone have suggestions for audio CD/tapes that I could use as a review while I am cruising through no where Nebraska and Wyoming? Yes I'm sure I'll spend several hundred miles just jammin to some tunes, but it wouldn't hurt me to study for a break.

Thanks
Nebr. Girl

Vangonotes or something like that. You get an audio version of your chapters. Although I don't know if they do them for nursing texts.

I gotta say if you listen to too much of that stuff driving you are going to fall asleep at the wheel.

Thanks, I hoping for a little studying, a little sunflower seed spitting, and some singing at the top of my voice with some tunes....

When I was in paramedic school, I had a 3 hour round trip commute daily for work. I taped all the lectures, and listened in the car. Almost didn't have to crack a book, because I was getting such good reinforcement. I'm an auditory learner, and it worked great for me.

Unfortunately, it only worked for part of nursing school. Many of the lectures/presentations weren't as good, even in person.

That won't help you this time round, but consider asking permission to tape the lectures and then keep those tapes for when you're doing errands in the car, etc. You might be amazed what penetrates and sticks. I can still hear Bob Palmer's Pharmacology lectures in my head 15 years later.

Have a good, safe trip!

I'm using Vango Notes for Micro now. I like to listen to the chapter before I read it, helps my focus. Will have to check and see if Vango offers anything for the later nursing classes.

If you have an MP3 player, check out the free podcasts on iTunes. There are some terrific ones out there (also a few snooze-fests) on all kinds of subjects--nursing, EMT/paramedic, micro, A&P, etc. Just do a few searches on likely keywords and see what you come up with. If you get to one that looks like you might be interested, look to the right of the screen for other podcasts deemed similar. I have found some of my faves that way, and free is always good.
