My hourly wage varies based on my agency's contract with the facility and the area in which I work: $27-31/hr. Oregon. 19 years as a nurse; two years agency.

In Philadelphia at my agency, a specialty RN (ICU, L&D) can make on 7-3 $40/hr, 3-11 $42/hr, 11-7 $45/hr. This is on the weekends.

I've been an RN 4 years and have done agency 6 months.

Thank you everyone for responding. This really helps. I'm starting a business that will allow the nurse to work independently as a contract nurse for hospitals. This will avoid the agency thus put more money in your pocket. Gathering info by state to get an idea of where the contracts should begin

Thanks for the help, and keep responding!
