ARRGGHH! Trying to consolidate

Why does everything have to be so difficult??? I have been trying to consolidate my student loans for the last hour, I get almost done, and then I get referred to a government site to confirm my orginal lender info.

So, I get to the government site, and it tells me it has already assigned me a PIN. What PIN!! I have never recieved a pin number, I searched through all my paperwork, and do not have one anywhere.

Then I have to request a new PIN......which the website tells me I will recieve via snail mail in 7-10 days.....WHY couldn't they just email it to me.

Sorry I just had to vent! Has anyone else had this much trouble consolidating?

I had the exact same problems with trying to consolidate. I was so frustrated that I finally just quit. But this one company called me after I had requested an application. They did everything for me but sign the application. I didn't even have to worry about getting my PIN #. They are a federally run program, and they made it hassle free for me. Wow, thanks for that info. Laura. I'm looking to consolidate my loans as soon as I graduate in 2 months. I agree financial aid stuff is a total pain in the butt, could they possibly make it any more difficult???!
