I found it interesting that when I went to apply to join MANI, Ihad to print off a form from the computer and mail it in. I was thinking a group of informatics people would be more high tech than that.
Our corporation selected IDX and I have been having trouble finding users.
we are making major efforts to involve staff in it's development. It's scary and exciting!
I do hope once I get my membership info back from MANI I can find some sources on standards of computerized documentation
Yes the Board of the Midwest Alliance for Nursing Informatics has investigated on-line commerce- securing the site and connecting with a banking institution or service to allow e-charging/payment.
Unfortunately the service is cost prohibitive at this time. Any suggestions or leads you have related to companies that can provide such services would be greatly appreciated.
If you have applied for membership to ANIA, AMIA and or CARING you will find similiar paper processes in place. HIMSS site does provide for e-payments and is a much bigger organization than any of the above.
Your IDX consultant should be able to direct you to a user group or.
Have you tried posting to the HISNET list at
Related to standards and computerized documentation check out texts on NIC, NOC and NANDA.
There will also be a conference addressing these three nursing nomenclatures in Chicago in April.
and MANI will also be providing a 3 part series of daylong programs on Integrated Clinical Information Systems, which will include documentation issues.
