Re: Anyone heard from UNH DEMN?
I had told them I'd prefer the 2-year track but could do 3; it wasn't a deal-breaker, so I'm eager to see where I ended up. Yes, I plan to attend; this is the only school I applied to. How about you (besides Georgetown)? I haven't gotten an official email yet, either, just saw the accepted application on Webcat. I hope the email has lots of details; at this point I'm very excited but also very clueless.
I finished my prereqs in June 2008, culminating in a psychotic 5-week intensive microbiology course, so I feel your pain (I didn't know you could apply with outstanding prereqs). You said you are out of state; do you qualify for New England Regional tuition? I'm in-state, so I can't complain!
Good luck in your decision; if you really want to go the NP route, you may want to look into UMass Worcester or Northeastern. I think Vanderbilt has a direct-entry NP program as well, and it's an excellent nursing school. I just remember someone at the UNH info night saying that if you want to be an NP, the CNL program isn't the way to go, though I guess in a practical sense any nursing program could get you there eventually. I knew I wanted to be a CNL the minute I read the AACN's white paper on it, so my decision was very simple. Again, good luck.
