Anyone ever worked as a RN in Saudi Arabia?

Right now, with the political climate being what it is, as an American, you wouldn't catch me over there for any amount of money. Also, you may make many $$$ but cost of living is high as well, and many items that you would take as basic necessity as American not available there. This is what I've heard, do not take as gospel truth....

Also, I was in KSA in my previous life in the publishing world and let me just say it was an eye opener. Segregation in malls, restaurants, public transportation, etc...However, when you ask Saudi women how they feel about the separation they think it's the best because the government is protecting them from the men.

Being an American (of the right shade of skin and this is important over there) can offer you advantages. Also, you might be amazed how far more advanced they are when it comes to medical technology, if you are in the affluent hospital.

I have worked there (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) for 5 years....housing and transportation is free, even food but as a foreigner sometimes you would prefer your kind of food so that's the only time you would spend your money (and of course shopping). I had a great experience there. You'll be safe for as long as you obey their rules (always cover whenever you are out). It is just a matter of how you adapt to your environment.

Arneeca - who did you go through? My husband and I are very interested in going. I'm an RN and he's a tech specializing in trauma & burns.
