Nut-job RN wife aside, If I were married to a man who actually believed I derived any joy whatsoever from providing personal care to a male patient, we'd have some serious problems.
    Serious, serious problems.

I have a good friend that just graduated nursing school and her fiance is extremely jealous and possessive and refuses to allow her to work in a hospital because he doesn't want her seeing other men. I'm not sure what he's worried about. I find it demeaning to the nursing profession to have that mind set because it minimizes what we do. We're there to save lives and provide car and are NOT paid companions. :angryfire

in this instance, demeaning is the least of the problems. that type of jealousy alleges a whole set of problems within the marriage, very scary ones.

Why has it never been an "issue" for wives of gynecologists? Their chosen specialty demands that they obviously get much more "intimate" with their patients and much more frequently than any nurse with her male patient.....................

because a gynecologist is not inferring anything other than to medically examine their pt. they also risk losing their license if there are ever charges of sexual harassment. on the other hand, the pts don't have as much to lose in terms of livelihood and career.

Now WAIT ONE COTTON PICKIN' MINUTE!!!

I CLEARLY remember this thread, because it was so weird (the authors of the book are clearly not playing with a full deck, or have some twisted sexual perversion). I REMEMBER IT WAS EITHER LOCKED OR PUT IN THE TRASH CAN!!

(EXcept I think it's so old, we didn't have a trash can back then to put it in!)

    4...3...2...1..... Lockdown!
