Any shoe suggestions for me? Dankso's aren't working...

Ok everyone - need your help. I invested in a pair of Dankso's a few months ago in hopes of finding relief for my aching feet at the end of a shift. I must admit, at the end of a 12 hour day, my feet are now feeling pretty darn good in comparison to the NB's that I used to wear. HOWEVER, I find these Dansko's to be like wearing cement blocks on my feet. Now it's my LEGS that are killing me as I lug these things around!! I'm a very short/petite woman, so I'm guessing that my body may not like carrying around all of that extra weight on my feet. My legs are THROBBING at the end of a day, even with good support hose on.

Soooo.....I'm back to the drawing board. Do you know of any closed back clog type shoes that are as easy on your feet as Danskos, but do not weigh a ton? I've heard that the Birkis can be good, and maybe that Klog brand? I need help!! TIA!

Sounds like my story, sans support hose. I noticed my posture has improved with them and although they said if I had an knee problems it would exasperate it, it has actually been the opposite. Recently I have added 81mg ASA to my meds and the leg pain associated with the shoes has disappeared. Just a thought.  :clown:

Another Crocs lover here. I wear Birks on my off time and I really think it is a toss up between Crocs and Birks in comfort.

I tried the crocs and was SO disappointed. They didn't feel a bit good. Oh well, still looking.

I have a pair of Quark's clogs and there is only one word for them...FABULOUS!! I put them on at 5:30 am and do not take them off until 4:30 pm and my feet do not hurt one bit! They are sold at most nursing supply/uniform stores but if you cannot find them there search online. I think I bought mine from shoeline.com.

Get a pair of birkenstocks...they're a little pricey. I went thru the same as you. Bough myself Dansko's, and you explained it perfectly...Just like 2 cement blocks!!! My feet were killing me, there was no "given" in the uppers, so the top of my feet were sore, since I have high arches.

Birkies are the same price as Dansko's and I haven't regretted it! They form to your feet and I could walk in them forever.

I even have several pairs of sandals, and I even turned my family on to them...they're hooked too..

Just try em....

Birks were another pair that made my feet SO sore and were a waste of a lot of money. Another pair that made me feel like i was walking on the bare floor.

I've been very pleased the last several months with my Quarks...got them on sale for $24 at Sears. They were a little warm at first, but had hubby drill 2 small holes on each inner side and they are awesome! I'm walking on the clouds!!! (I have a hx of plantars fascitis).

Shoes can be a very individual thing! Good luck with the search.

Ryka's. Like walking on air!:)
