Nurses General Nursing

I have loved this site, but as I check , "Today's Posts", as is my wont, more and more, there are only student related topics.

What has happened here? Has anyone else noticed this? I have no problem with lots of students here, but I also want to participate in lively discussions with peers!

I've commented on this several times, like 29 of 30 threads on the first page. I thought the idea to separate the student section into an independent site was a good one but it did not fly far. And the breakroom has been ravaged lately with the recent changes. I won't go to my state forum anymore because I can't find a thread that isn't about fall admissions to such and such school. Less and less for nurses. The site needs to be renamed to reflect the fact that it is for students.

HAHAHA I am supposed to have friends?? I thought that's why I come here. I remember Brian used to send me big boxes of pens to pass out at work to bring people here.

What was your old username?

I loved those pens too!!

How about where are the nurses with at least a year of experience?

I'd say 75% of the threads by non-students are "I've been in my first job for three months and this is awful/I'm being bullied/what do I do?!?!?!?"

The state forums are awful. They used to be really nice, but I agree that they are now all about this or that school waiting list or the New Grad program at hospital x,y,z. I wish they'd separate that stuff from the state forums again.

You know, I don't really mind the student and new nurse posts. It is kind of like being at work and all the other nurses in the nursing station are much younger than you and you overhear the conversations about dating, roommates and things that are not a part of my middle aged life. It is interesting to get that different perspective and remember how far you have evolved and changed along the way.

I agree with all about this. I used to really enjoy learning things from experienced nurses working in areas different from mine.
