I was thinking about a pt who I had that i knew had passed about a year ago. She was one of those patients who made a mark on me. I googled her, and got her obituary as expected. Didn't think it would make me cry......

In her obituary, her family members expressed their gratitude to the staff of our hospital.

That meant a lot.

I love them all but there are certain ones that just find a place in your heart!

I have been to a few viewings/visitations/funerals. Each one has been a patient that touched me in some way. And some of the families have called me to please come, and then proceeded to introduce me to others as 'mom's favorite nurse' or something similar.

And yes, I have cried.

Be happy and thankful you were able to make a difference in her life. Obviously the family thought a lot of you and the rest of the staff....that is what nursing is about :)
