Adverse posting repercussions?

  1. Has there ever been any adverse effects of posting on allnurses? Like someone at work finding out and something negative came out of it? or any other unpleasant consequence?

I remember someone posting that this DID happen awhile back although I don't recall the specifics.

A few have posted about this. As long as you keep your information general (especially about where you work) I wouldn't worry about it much.

Seems I also remember someone getting disciplined at work for posting about one of their patients on this site. I don't remember the specifics either.

I haven't been around long enough to know, but I've heard inimations of that. People had to go through and remove any thing in their old posts about where they worked or lived, etc.

    Yes, it has deffinitely happened.

yes it has as above stated. Also someone who was in the "heat of a divorce", triangular relationship etc... it got very messy.... don't ask...

Learn from it and be VERY general when posting something that could "bite ya in the #$%# if the wrong person finds out... K?

We here @ AllNurses have our share of skeletons.. just like any family... a little disfunction here and there... but all in all... we function quite well with lots of love, hugs, and forgiveness PRN....

Sorry to bring this thread to the front again, but I was nosing through some that I missed and had to share this: Recently I found out that I'VE BEEN IDENTIFIED at work! A colleague recognized my writing style, and I admitted that I was indeed who I am. No repercussions so far; I looked back through some of my posts and, short of my black humor, there isn't a lot that could do me damage (I hope!). I'll continue to use the forum as a source of information and to share thoughts with my peers. You offer a great insight to the thought, concerns, and warmth that nursing reflects now. :kiss Merry Christmas! JeannieM

When I used to frequent delphi forums traveling nurses section a few nurses were threatened with legal action by their employer for posting on there. I did not post anything inflammatory.
