Do you think nurses functioning in the advance practice role should have a bsn or msn degree? do you think the nurse should be
compensated financially for functioning in that role? how would you the determine the
the salary? i work in that role, and i am thinking about asking for a salary increase.
any input would be appreciated.

First of all I'm curious about what your specialty is and how long you have been practicing. I'm a family nurse practitioner and have been in a family practice for 16 years. I have a MSN. I think I should be compensated according to my advanced degree, my years of practice and experience, and how much I contribute to the practice by the income I generate in seeing patients.
