What skills are you talking about??? Since the human species has been schlubbin' along for thousands of years, I would venture to guess that the oldtimers knew how to carry on the tradition successfully.

Even Cosmopolitan Magazine, a seemingly "liberated" mag, aims at teaching you ways you can please your man, in the bedroom, the way you dress, all those advice articles, cooking, the same messages as you said. The way they sell it though is by promising that supposedly your sex life will be better, or you'll feel better, or your relationship will be better ... it is still about clothing, about being attractive and "clean" and somewhat manipulative in order to get what "every woman wants anyway", a "good" man. LOL

And do we get what those mags promise?

I don't THINK SO!

Comparing today's Cosmo, with a Cosmo from 15 years ago, and they look like two totally different magazines. I miss Cosmo's old (and truly) liberated way, it's certainly not liberated now, more like a modernized 1830's how-to-please-that-man book of BS.

So where is a woman supposed to learn skills in the bedroom, from her mother?

The 'sexuality' section in a bookstore or online bookstore woud be a better start than Cosmo. At least at the bookstore, the odds are better in finding guide for mutual satisfaction, instead of Cosmo one-sided (so to speak)methods.

Is Dr. Ruth still on the radio doing her sex talk radio show? That woman was a trip when I used to listen to her (secretly!) as a teenager.

Anywhere but magazines like Cosmo, IMHO.

Dr. Ruth wrote the sex book for the 'Dummies' series. Good book.
