:paw:hi every one

the first and last time i vsited this forum was 2 years ago when i have just started nursing school,i was so busy and still very busy so don't have a free time to chat, but something very exciting happened to me on my way back home from school a month ago and i want to share it with you all...

i'm traveling every day to another city for nursing school for the last 2 years...one day while i was driving back home on the high way i saw a man standing out side his car on the side of the road waving for help.

i decided to stop and give some help, for my surprise he said that his wife is having a baby right now inside the car, i was shocked but said i'm a nursing student i think i can help but let's call an ambulance as well because i don't have any sterelized tool's to cut the cord,

then i entered the car and saw the baby just came out still not breathing, the mother was holding her asking why isn't she crying yet? why is she blue??? i was telling her that it's normal bec. she was just born and soon she'll be o.k. i was trying to come her down (and praying to god fot the baby to start breathing ) after a moment i decided to start "cpr" ,so i opened the baby's air way and then she started crying, i was so excited and told the mother soon her skin will be pink and normal, the mother started crying.. and i told her that i'm planning to become a midwife in the future, i'll always remember her and her baby, then i covered the baby with a cloth the father found in the car, while waiting for the ambulance the baby's father started taking some pictures, and then he pulled a 2 year old boy from his car sit (that was sitting in the back of the car all this time with out saying a ward )and showed him his new sister girl that was just born. after 15-20 min, the ambulance arrived, they finally cut the baby's cord and told me to hold the baby while taking the mother out of the car and in to the umbulance. i felt like in a dream. gave back the baby to her mother , they all thanked me and i said goodbye asked wich hospital they are going to?

and drove back home, happy excited and shocked. i called the hospital the next day asked to talk to the mother that gave birth on the way,she came

to the phone thanked me again , i asked her how do you feel today? and is the baby o.k. ??? she said that they are both doing great.

the end:yeah:

WOW!! I am so proud of you

Some of us don't like it when nurses get called angels of Mercy but in this case it would seem to be appropriate.

That is such a wonderful story. I am so glad you shared it. One thing I couldn't help noticing is that you responded to a man on the side of the road. Were you scared or nervous when you pulled over? It seems so dangerous to me.

Good for you for being there to help the family.
