Re: 3 dui's in mi
On the other hand, I have to say that drunk driving isn't the only stupid and deadly behavior out there.
One of my very dear friend buried his 2 cousins (father and son!) last week-end. Those of you living in Michigan might have heard of that horror story as well.... they were going to the store to buy the kids running shoes. 2 ******** drag-racing in pick up trucks came onto their small car at 90 mph- One of the pick up trucks T-boned the sedan, killing the dad, his son, while the step son survived but was severely injured (the news report broken ribs and leg, but the family is talking about liver lac, TBI etc...)
Since I rarely watch TV or even listen to the radio, I was unaware of the atrocity until my friend called me on the day of his young cousin's funeral (his dad was buried the following day). Whether alcohol was or not involved will never be known. The "people" whom hit the little sedan were apparently healthy enough to quickly get out of the (stolen) truck and run off! The other truck just vanished at high speed.
I am sometime so ashamed to be of the same race as those whom perpetuate those acts: humans! We are definitely not all created equals (some are missing a brain and a heart!)
Even though those "events" try my faith, I would be grateful if you could keep those 3 innocents in your prayers! The poor kid surviving the accident will need a lot of resilience to recover from his injuries, and his family is already scared about the medical fees piling up.
I am hoping that since the kid is a minor (13 y.o) , the bill will be covered by the state? I honestly don't know much about those regulations, but maybe those of you working in Peds would know more? Your insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
