2-step TB testing

I would like to know if most hospitals require 2-step TB skin testing for new employees.

Yes, for the initial test. After that, if you do it within 1 year, you only have to do one, so keep track and do it on time. We do ours on the floor and give the test to our fellow workers and fill out all the paperwork. If your facility is like ours, keep xerox copies of everything you turn in for eveidence later, many things have a habit of getting "lost". Joanne

Both hospitals that I have worked at required a 2 step TB test.

I don't think ours required it. At least I never had anything but the one mantoux then a repeat q year.

I am a nurse practitioner and manager of our Occupational Health/Employee Health department and we require it on all new hires and annually thereafter.
