    There's a reason why I included a paragraph-long disclaimer at the very beginning of the article before diving into this topic which points out that some readers might feel that the topic of killer nurses is inappropriate, unbecoming or distasteful on a forum for professional nursing. Anyone who is extremely disturbed by the subject matter or believes there's no point has the option of not reading it.

    r/t the medical profession, since all serial killer RNs that I can think of have been covered, is Dr. Shipman who may actually hold the record for the largest number of victims. At least in the Western world.

    Have always had a fascination with criminology and serial killers in particular, myself.

    Jane Toppan is another...interesting...nurse killer from the 1800s.

    I bet there are long lists of killer cops and I remember hearing of some killers in EMS and firemen who start fires.

    I actually found this interesting TheCommuter. Shows that it's not just people without a job or low paying jobs that can be crazy and kill people. It can be ANYONE even nurses.

    Orville Lynn Majors-former Licensed Practical Nurse in Indiana convicted of murdering six patients. He was suspected of as many as 130 patient murders between 1993 and 1995.

    I looked him up after I saw this- he supposedly killed patients who were demanding or whiny and "hated" the elderly.
