Who starts the IV's?
Is it an IV or a lock?

Who gives the sedation???

We as RN's start the IV either a lock or if needed fluids are hung.

they usually have an IV already in place before they come for the procedure. The RN who's in charge of patient monitoring gives the sedation. WE do have one doc who gives his own sedation. Ive also seen occasionally where anesthesia will give deep sedation.
