Biopsies ?mix up

To the GI RN's I'm just wondering has anyone of you guys had problems with biospies from EGD or Colonoscopy pathologies coming back as either labels have been switched or tissue mix up? or something like that. Through no fault of yours, no matter how much you know ur anatomy od how careful you labelled your jars in this area?

never had a problem either. We don't have techs in our rooms. I collect and label my own specimen. Our doctors "announce" the location & how they want the label to read...even if it's an obvious location like the cecum.

I agree, the MD gives the exact location and how they want hte label to read. I have been in GI for a long time and even if I know where a specimens is from, I verify the site so all are sure of the site. We have an RN and a tech in the room and we both check the label as it goes on the bottle.
