Air/water channel problems....

  1. The endoscopy lab where I work has been having a lot of problems with the air/water channels becoming clogged. We use simethicone in our flush, and I'm wondering if this could be the culprit. Is there anyone else having this problem, and if so, how did you remedy it?

We have had the same problem but where not using simethicone. Now we are using Endozime AW, a bacteriostatic Enzymatic cleaner with exelent results. Have not had any more problems of that kind anymore

What type scopes do you use? We have seen an increase in A/W problems with the Olympus 140 series....but unfortunately I have no solution for you...yet. We also use Mylicon in our water bottles and one physician insists for flushing. Also, just curious, what kind of reprocessing do you do?...steris or ????
