by Ceteris Paribus Aug 14, '09First let me say that this is my favorite nursing website bar none. Second, I will likely be forking over the dough to upgrade my membership soon no mater what. With that said if I had a "wish list" for this site here it what it might involve:
1. An "allnurses university" area. This would be an area with articles and VIDEOS on various aspects of nursing. For example despite my year of experience I'm still absolutely WOEFUL at starting IV's. Man oh man do I wish I could watch a series of videos by veterans explaining (and then demonstrating) various IV start techniques. Of course certain subjects might be far more advanced such as management of acute septic shock with integrated case scenarios et al. Perhaps one day allnurses might even consider sponsoring local "workshops" where various nursing skills could be reviewed and expanded upon. I often speak at work how I wish that there was a nursing "summer camp" that I could go to in order to improve my skills just as I used to go to wreastling and cross country camp for weeks at a time during my youth.
2. An activiism area would be neat. Let's say that I think my state should join the nursing license compact (so our licenses would be recognized in other states) it would be nice if there were an area where I could arrange to get together with like minded individuals.
Does anyone care to build upon this list?
Print and share with friends and family.
Compliments of allnurses.com.

just click on "students" on top.
everything conceivable, has been discussed.
do a search, i.e., "starting iv's".
and become familiar with Daytonite, who is nearly every student's mentor.
she is an invaluable resource...actually, for all of us.
2. check out our "Nursing Activism/Healthcare Politics" forum.
just scroll down this page.
and welcome aboard.

steph - Aug 17, '09 by CdnurstudentI'd love it if allnursing had a "like" button (or something similar), not just a thank button, I could click below people's posts (similar to facebook). Sometimes I'd like to be able to quickly express that "I AGREE!!" with a person's opinion, which I do often.

When you click the "thanks" button, "kudos" are given a post to which you agreed and/or you liked:
- found on lower right of each member post
(#) Readers Gave Kudos - found on lower left of each post thanked
