    for me, it has been a way of extending an olive branch...
    acknowledging that i like their posts/input/personality, etc.

    i'll 2nd that emotion, by having friends in an, it has given me the ability to communicate and share our thoughts on any given subjects

    I have been able to PM with members who were not my "friends"

    I'm also not clear about what actual function this relationship serves besides the label itself.

    I'm also having the same problems the poster in this thread has mentioned which are that I can't even FIND my friends list, even after following the Guide's directions.

    I think it is something special and nice to have. I would explain finding your friends area, Vespertinas, but you would end up somewhere in Greenland! Try clicking on your own profile and you should see a little tab that says friends toward the middle of the display, I think.

    Click on "[user name]'s account" (next to the envelope, green bookmark, and heart)
    Right below the "send private message" button is a drop down box saying "options," click there
    Then click "Edit Friends List"

    I see.

    So it looks like the function of having "friends" is so you can more easily "track their activity" and send PMs.

    I suggest making the friends list more visible than deep within a drop down menu. And giving it more functionality like... okay I can't think of anything right now.. but I'll sit on it.

    For reals though, I guess I thought of it as, with whom do I want to ally myself... though I haven't asked anyone to be friends yet.
    But if I saw that a member was friends with certain people, it would give me insight into them, if they were friends with wise posters, or ones whose posts I'd rather ignore.

    Ahhhh, there's the added functionality it can have, it should be all Mafia Wars-ish. The Comic Sans Lovers vs. the Italic Garamonders...

    I'd better start building up my posse, or since this is allnurses, some posey vests. HEYSUZ is going DOWN!!!

    I don't want to stalk anybody. I want to work with you. Can being friends mean we work in/run an imaginary AllNurses facility? And then competing cliques can showdown in a battle royale of hospitals. Let me just say the results will not be based on HCAHPS scores.
