I have a question about ads on the site

    Beginning last evening political ads began appearing on the site. Are such ads allowed? I am wondering about them. They are specific to my state, Florida.

    I dont mean to sound mean or harsh, but if they are appearing then someone obviously put them there. Also since they are ads, they are generating revenue which i think is why they are posted here

    Hm. How do they know I live in California? If they take ads from both sides I don't see anything wrong with it. Allnurses doesn't endorse candidates so it isn't really different from other advertisers.

    I was just wondering. I thought this would be th one place I could come to without seeing political ads. Don't get me wrong, I believe in the right that anyone running for office can put upads. I just am being deluged my them. They are on my TV,my radio, on the streets, in my newspaper. And they are all so negative. I do plan to vote Teusday.

    I think they have secretly planted a bug, that some how lets the ad people know whee we live.

    I think the culprit is Google; I frequently see ads aimed specifically at the South African medical community, and I don't think AN is responsible for putting them there...

    I have all that, plus "robo-calls" and ginormous tree-wasting, landfill-filling cardboard direct mail from candidates who strut about their "green" credentials and their Prius-driving wonderfulness.

    The negative ads are annoying beyond words. How they make their opponent look like something the cat dragged in with sickly colors and frowny faces and their rude commands to "tell Congress to stop this and start that" etc. I feel like saying "what's the magic woooord?" 'cause I guess their mama didn't teach them how to say please and thank you.

    Yes, its Google to blame - they are the ones that roll over and choose the ads.

    Personally, I find the "$$$$ Become a Nurse in 5 Minutes! All Online $$$$$$ !!!!" ads much more offensive.

    Yeah, all of the ads on allnurses for political candidates are So-and-So candidate is Evil Incarnate! He will drink the blood of your family dog! ...just so sick of the crazy negativity.
