Working in the urgent care..

I am an urgent care nurse.. a new graduate and sometimes i feel like everything is still kinda new or I feel like I dont know certain things when i feel like im supposed to know these things?? Does anyone ever feel that way?? Like I know the Urgent care is almost like a mini ER so to say, so sometimes I feel sooo overwhlemed cause theres soo many things to know.. such as immunizations, all the other medications like antibiotics etccc.. putting on casts.. its just stressful sometimes cause its alot to take in as a new grad.

It definitely is alot different than the hospital, I can say that.

Re: Working in the urgent care..

Take a deep breath and relax. It takes as long as it takes to take care of a patient.

Every day and every skill will eventually become easier.

I hate casts, anything to do with ortho. So, you'd never find me within 400 ft. of the cast room.

Just relax and remember you know how to do this stuff, it just takes time to learn the paperwork side of the job and how the "real" world does things.
