Working License Pending

I am just about finished with school and want to work license pending. Does anyone have any ideas of how to search for work license pending. None of the nursing job listings I've seen mention anything about "license pending". Is this just something that I would have to ask the employer? Anyone have any advice or tips on working license pending. Thanks!
