Took NCLEX today!! 01-25-08 JUST CRAZY

I took my exam today in Gardena, computer stopped at around 95 questions, none of those have I seen in books! Saunders, Delmar, Lippincott, Mosby's and Kaplan (the worst). "Select all that apply" basically killed me!! I think I flunked it, even though I am pretty sure on the last few, the medication questions were hard...... Is there ANY way to find out sooner than 3 weeks? And what do you do if you failed? I am so stressed out!! I went through a pack of cigarettes and I don't even smoke!!!

Stop smoking!

Just about Everyone feels that they have failed.

It stinks that you have to wait three weeks you can check your states BON who knows maybe they will put your name up before you get your results back. That isn't guaranteed though and it's certain to make you go crazy checking the computer 122 times a day.

Good luck and remember that the majority pass on the first attempt.

The waiting can seem like the hardest part. Sometimes that's all we can do. Relax and think good thoughts.

Good Luck and look forward to hearing about your results

Most of us walked away from that test bewildered, at best. I used many sources of questions, including the ones that OP mentioned plus a few more. I wanted to get used to different levels of difficulty and seeing different styles and genres. It didn't seem to matter, because that test was kick butt time...really. I finished the test in 45 minutes, with 85 questions, and I remember going nuts when the screen went blank...I thought the computer was malfunctioning. I did pass, but it was a difficult 48 hours. I don't know if I could have survived waiting weeks.

At this moment, it is over...there is not much you can do. Try and relax, do not open any books when you remember questions, try and think positive. Most do pass the first time, no matter how insane that test is. Good luck!

First of al, stop smoking. That's no way to deal with the stress.
I have never taken the NCLEX-PN and I dont know what it's like. But I can offer you words of comfort. Just relax and do other things that will take your mind of waiting for the results. What is done is done and there is nothing u can do to change that. So there's no use worrying about it. I'm sure you did fine. I can't imagine what you're going through, but I'm sure you passed. I don't know if there's any way u can find out your results less than 3 wks. If you failed, then go and retake the NCLEX, this time focusing on those Select All That Apply questions. I hate those "Select All That Apply" questions too... Tell us as soon as u get your results... (fingers crossed)

Felt exactly the same way. Read the first part of your practice book. There are questions on the test that you are not suppose to know. (I know, stupid) forget where I read it...in the Saunders or the actual pn packet. they judge you on some weird up and down scale. The test stops when it has determined that you 1) know enough or 2) don't know enough. The test ask a question, if right, you get a harder one and so one until you miss one, then you will be backed down to an easier one and start the same process. If your questions got increasingly harder...that is a good sign. Sucks about how long you have to wait, though. SorryHere's wishing you the best of luck.
