Unless the laws have changed, In Virginia, if you have children and separate, there is a year wait until case goes to court, and divorce finalized. I don't know of any law that says you need to wait a year after a divorce before remarrying. I know someone who got remarried the same day they went to divorce court.

Personally, I believe after a divorce (or any relationship), its a good idea to be single and enjoy life, and really understand yourself before jumping into any new relationships.

just my 2 cents - Sandy

I hope this helps. I was a widow and my husband had to go through a divorce. He had to be separated a year with no cohabitation with his ex wife. Then he filed for a divorce. It took 3 months to get the divorce and the lawyer said we could marry the day he got his papers if we wanted to. But we planned a small wedding and got married 2 months after his divorce. This was in VA.
