The law just passed in Quebec, that RNAs (LPNs in other provinces) can now install a short intrevenous catheter, and adminster solutions without additives. This is a big step for us RNAs in Quebec.
This is also allowed in Ontario, just depends on the policy of your place of employment. I am guessing that with the current RN shortage in Ontario, this will become more and more common. I am just finising an IV and venipuncture course for RN's and RPN's.
