Quebec RNAs / LPNs can insert an IV

Hello,
The law just passed in Quebec, that RNAs (LPNs in other provinces) can now install a short intrevenous catheter, and adminster solutions without additives. This is a big step for us RNAs in Quebec.

You might get a better response in the Canadian Forum.

Alberta has also done this. We prepare and hang our own IV meds.

This is also allowed in Ontario, just depends on the policy of your place of employment. I am guessing that with the current RN shortage in Ontario, this will become more and more common. I am just finising an IV and venipuncture course for RN's and RPN's.
