Question Office Nursing?......

Hello Everyone!
I'm a newbie to this site (love it so far!!!) and have a question for Office Nurses.....What is the going salary? For the past 2 yrs, I've worked PM shift as LPN Supervisor in a 16 bed facility for DD adults. I'm interviewing for a m-f orthopedic office nursing position next week and would like some input about a 'typical' day......Thanks so much in advance for your time and help.......

Re: Office Nursing?......

I'm an r.n. in idaho, generally pay is low for lpn 12-16/hr, rn 16-18. I'm lucky and work for a doc who has 5 clinics, I make 20/hr, and have been there 6mo after doing hospital work.

You will do lots of phone triage and assess pt needs, ie: comein for appt, or watch and waite, review labs with pt, do procedures.

I'm formerly from Centralia, Ill, and when I left in 1998, and moved out here, the pay was not very good. Alot of us Lpn's most of the time we would be on staff with one or more nurse agencies, and we planned our schedules that way, but take in mind that there are some draw backs working agencies! 1. Theres always cancellations @ the last moment, and if you need stability, and you go agency try to get on with one that provides the following: pays your rent, utilities, and your rate pay is @ least $20/hr. 2. If you are close to St Louis, Mo--You can make @ least $2-$5 more, by crossing the river! I was
getting off work @ 3pm and driving to fairview heights, which was a hour and a half! If this helps, please let me know! I've been a Lpn since 1987, so you can reach me @ dimeryce@yahoo.com Have a good day!

Re: Office Nursing?......

I am an LPN in a Dr's office and make little over 12.00/hr. Not the greatest, but, it is Mon- Fri 8-5 (great hours) and we get uniform allowance, insurance, and many perks. I wouldn't trade it for anything!
