What shift do you work? As a new nurse, I started on 3rds, which is usually the quietest shift. I STILL felt like I was in over my head at first, (for a couple of months), but finally found my way. It was painful and scary, and I second (and third, and fourth) guessed myself frequently. It is a WHOLE DIFFERENT world out here compared to school. I worked 11-7 for 7 months and just recently started on 7p-7a shifts which has allowed me to "ease" in to more hectic situations that I feel much more prepared for now. Anyway, if you really feel that you need to move on, I would put in 2 weeks notice. I was taught in school to not "burn any bridges" with employers because chances are sometime down the road, you may end up wanting to come back. Besides, it always looks good on a resume`.
