Re: New LPN grad looking for LPNs insight

eldragon, my problem is that the places i went to interview at were all union positions, so i couldn't negotiate pay rates, they are fixed until the union gives a raise every other year and the employees vote on it.

I have an interview next week that is offering me 25/hr which is great, and the highest offer so far so im really hoping i land that position, wish me luck

In NJ im finding that there are not much LPN jobs available with all the hospitals closing down in NJ. I've applied for my NY license to expand my field. From my graduating class of about 13 people ive had the most interviews, and i only had 2 since june 15, which is now 1 month. we are all a bit concerned...but im hanging in and not giving up!!!

good luck to all of you!!

Re: New LPN grad looking for LPNs insight

Hey.. I graduated in August of 2007.. I failed the first Nclex in Feb 2008.The computer turned off at 85. I thought I passed because I read the entire orange Saunders book for a month. I didn't do the questions on the cd though plus I didn't sleep the night before cause I was still studying and my test was at 8am. So I was so sad. I was thinking of giving up. But I know I had to take a second shot at it. So I had a retest on July 18 2008 (scanned the Kaplan book and read about the strategies on how to take the test and did some questions from the Saunders Cd the night before the test) . My computer kept going until I reached 204 questions and ran out of time. LOL. I really thought I failed. I was so happy when I found out I passed. I was screaming my lungs out and woke everyone up who lives in my house. haha. I was so happy!!! -=D. I did go to church the day I took the test and the day before I found out.. last time I went to church was 2003. So yeah..It's a new beginning for me. I will be going once a week and I promised..So I was on vacation the whole week after I found out I passed and today will be doing my resume so I can start looking for jobs this week. Goodluck with everything and never give up because behind the dark cloud, the sun is still shining!

Good luck to you. I took my boards in June, and it was a calm environment and happy faces bringing us in. It wasn't as "cold" as I thought it would be. Good luck to you. I will be thinking of you.

Re: New LPN grad looking for LPNs insight

I went out and purchased the RN Kaplan nclex review. I opted to buy the RN instead of the LPN for the CD. Do you think this is was a good idea?

Ok, it will be several months before I move on to online learning but I am deff. going to do it. Do you have AIM or yahoo instant messaging? It is easier for me to talk with people via messaging. If you do, add me to your buddy list. My screen name is CisL4him.
