New Jersey License by endorsement

Hi;

How does one get an LPN license in New Jersey? I cannot find out anything on the web page for the nursing board back there. I would like to see if I can obtain one by endorsement but since I took my state board here in California back in 1981 I am not certain if I can do this. Anyone out there that can help...please reply!

Thanks!!

Are you an LPN now? If so..all you have to do is pay the fee for your NJ license. Call the number on the webpage. I work in NJ.

You will need to contact the Board of Nursing directly. It will depend on what your score was on your state boards back then. This was before there was the NCLEX exam, when each state gave their own exam.........and different scores were required for passing to work in different states.

None of us here can give you the answer since things were done quite differently then. Numerical scores were used and it is up to each state to decide wht they will and will not accept. Be aware that they may require that you take the NCLEX-PN exam first...........some states have been doing that now.

The other big question is have you worked as an LPN all along and have a current license?
